The Big Give Christmas Challenge has begun!
For one week only, starting at midday today until midday on Tuesday 6 December, the OU is raising money for the Disabled Veterans' Scholarships Fund (DVSF) to help give more military heroes the life-changing chance they deserve to study and rewrite their futures for themselves and their families.
Thanks to match-funding through The Big Give, the first £25,000 of donations received before 12pm on Tuesday 6 December made through The Big Give website will be doubled at no extra cost to supporters. That means each £1 will go twice as far to help reach our fundraising target of £50,000 in just one week.
Helping to keep education open to more disabled veterans
The OU has awarded an incredible 260 life-changing disabled veterans' scholarships to date since the launch of DVSF in 2018. Not only is the Fund designed to provide access to free education and wraparound disability and careers support, it's also a fantastic way of re-building veterans' self-belief and helping them to develop new skills to build a life outside of their service.
Scholarships like Steven's and Martine's just wouldn't be possible without the generosity and kindness of our OU family. By reading their stories, you'll be able to see the life-changing impact the Fund has in helping to open up the future for veterans.
