The Open University are thrilled to share the fantastic news that this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge has been a resounding success, raising an incredible £68,451 for the Disabled Veterans’ Scholarships Fund (DVSF).
We had a target of £60,000 (our largest yet) and amazingly this was reached just two days into the seven day challenge. A donor from our alumni community then generously provided a further match funding pot of £2,500 and by Saturday morning, we had reached our new fundraising target of £65,000. This achievement is a testament to the collective generosity and dedication of our OU community, and the funds raised will provide life-changing opportunities for disabled veterans, enabling them to access education, rebuild confidence and pursue new futures.
Throughout the campaign, we were so inspired by the support from donors and their heartfelt contributions, wanting to give back to disabled veterans.
We’re excited to be able to share a powerful and inspiring short video featuring some of our incredible veterans who have benefitted from a disabled veterans’ scholarship. Through their own words, they share how the OU has helped them overcome challenges, rebuild confidence, and transform their futures. Their stories are a testament to the life-changing impact of the collective support we provide together.
Thanks to your generosity, even more disabled veterans like those in the video, will have the opportunity to rewrite their futures through an OU education.
