The coronavirus pandemic has caused seismic shifts to our daily lives and routines. For our students, the pandemic changed their circumstances so much that many have struggled to continue their studies.
We launched the OU’s Student Assistance Appeal as a way to support and provide relief to those students struggling to get by. The response to this appeal from our alumni community has been amazing – raising an incredible £113,000 so far. Thanks to your generosity, more OU students affected by the pandemic will receive the support needed to continue their life-changing learning.
We appreciate that so many are now facing challenges and uncertainties we never could have anticipated. By coming together as an OU family, you are ensuring that our University can truly remain open to all as we have done for over 50 years. The generosity shown by so many our alumni now means that despite the current situation and the added difficulties our students are dealing with, the next generation of learners will still be able to achieve their ambitions and complete their qualifications as intended.
Alumni generosity will make a difference to those in the greatest need
On behalf of The Open University and our students, please accept our sincerest gratitude. The way you have rallied behind OU students in their real time of need is inspirational – the sense of community and loyalty to the OU family never fails to inspire. Thank you once again for showing that together, there is nothing that we cannot achieve.
