The OU’s Disabled Veterans’ Scholarships Fund provides free education to veterans injured in, or due to, military service, empowering recipients to rewrite their own futures. For so many brave servicemen and women, adapting to life outside of the military can seem like an impossible challenge.
From midday 30th November to midday on the 7th December, the OU is taking part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge, aiming to raise a life-changing £40,000 for disabled veteran scholarships in just one week!
Thanks to the generous match-funding through The Big Give charitable initiative, the first £20,000 of donations received during the week will be DOUBLED. So every £20 will be worth £40 (or £45 with Gift Aid) at no extra cost to supporters – meaning your support will have twice the impact.
How you can help
This is a unique opportunity to double donations for disabled veterans, enabling them to pursue their career ambitions and ultimately, have the chance to dream new dreams. Due to the effects of the pandemic, many are now struggling to earn a living and feel opportunities are out of reach. Any support you can give would be hugely appreciated and would enable us to offer even more scholarship places.

The Disabled Veterans’ Scholarships Fund has offered me, and the other veterans, access to education that we wouldn’t get otherwise. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported the scheme and made this opportunity a possibility.

I'm extremely grateful to have been awarded my scholarship, thank you with all my heart. I now want to give back and I know many more disabled veterans feel exactly the same.
